
Biography
Taiwanese pianist Fu-Ching Ku is currently focused on classical solo repertoire with a deep interest in exploring and connecting with diverse cultures through her performances across different countries. She has shared her music in Spain, Singapore, and Taipei, expressing herself through the piano to allow audiences the opportunity to discover the beauty of classical music.
Fu-Ching has performed the third movement of F. Chopin’s Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11 with the Da-Tung School Orchestra in Taiwan. As a recitalist, she has appeared at esteemed venues such as the Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporania in Valencia, the salon of the National Concert Hall in Taiwan, and the renowned NTNU Performance Hall. She has also participated in music festivals such as the Perugia Music Festival, the Valencia International Performance and Academy, and the International Maestro Piano Festival in Taiwan.
Fu-Ching’s talent gave her the opportunity to participate in several competitions around the world. She is the first prize winner of the 2023 Valencia International Performance Academy Competition where she performed R. Schumann’s Sonata. In 2020, she advanced to the finals of the NTNU Piano Concerto Competition, performing R. Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54. She was also the first prize winner of the 2019 WPTA Taiwan Piano Competition, and even at a very young age, she was a finalist in the Japan Classical Music Competition. More recently, Fu-Ching was selected by the NTNU Music Department for the academic exchange program at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore.
Currently, Fu-Ching is pursuing her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, studying with Professor Boris Slutsky. She previously obtained her Bachelor of Music in Piano from the National Taiwan Normal University where she studied with Professor Chun-Chieh Yen.
